The AXON Mini-Extruders substitute full-scale machines at research and development work. The AXON Miniextruders are preferably low models for bench- or tabletop assembly. The tabletop can be provided with hight-adjustable legs to a suitable working bench position. The AXON MINI-EXTRUDERS replace the expensive full-scale research and development. They save much production time and give the full scale result much quicker at much lower cost. Batches down to 25 grams (1 ounce) of raw material can produce the results of a full-scale machine in 5 minutes.
The AXON Medical Tube Extrusion Lines.
By tube making, a number of co-extruders will be added, depending on how many different coloured strings or different polymer-layers shall be given the tube in question.
An AXON Mini-Extruder, model BX-18, can perform a trial operation within 10 minutes by using 100 grams raw material pro batch instead of 1000 grams pro batch which is normal. A client making many batches a day with expencive color pigments and other expencive ingredients will save the costs of a Mini-Extruder within a short period by reducing the raw material consumption. Furthermore, the result of a full-scale machine will be displayed in the Mini-Extruder within 10 minutes and thus save much operating time.
Sometimes medical tubes consist of two layers or two polymers in the same tube, which is the case i.e. for medical x-ray contrast tubes. It is then set up like we illustrate it in the Newsletter No. 18 obtainable through answering the questionnairy. Also other 2-layer tubes has this set up but for medical purpose we can alternatively offer this equipment for clean-room installation.

Plastics Extruders for Training and Laboratory trails
The converting of the modern thermoplastic raw
materials requires knowledge
as well as experience but it is complicated to instruct and train machine
operators and plastics technicians and operators by means of full-scale
machines. It takes too long time to disassemble and study the machine components
and large quantities of very expensive raw material are consumed in the
process.
Our BENCH MODEL MINI-EXTRUDERS reduce considerably the cost
of training plastics engineers, technicians and machine operators. These
extruders are genuine scaled-down versions of full-scale machines and are
very handy to use for R & D-work as well as for instruction and education
purposes as they need a minimum of time for operation and service at small
running and maintenance costs, at the same time as the results correspond
to those obtained in a full-scale machine. Batches down to 10 grams of
raw material can in a few minutes produce the results of a full-scale machine.
The AXON Mini-Extruders are the most practical laboratory and education
units for converting theoretical research into practical know-how.
By the aid of these bench model extruders, one gets good contact with
the converting principles of the extrusion process and a good understanding
of realities behind the modern thermoplastic raw materials, their additives,
colouring, etc. One gets a clear comprehension of the possibilities of
modern materials as well as their spheres of application, together with
an insight into the methods of their processing, all without much physical
exertion or arrangements.
There is also tools and down stream equipment available in scaled down
version from AXON for each specific extrusion process.
